During the summer season there are a lot of fish to be caught in
this stretch of water,
N. Knightly, so far has caught the record Bream, 8lbs in 2004 and
a 9lb Tench.
I usually walk for 10 to 15 minutes and that's far enough for me,
although a long walk can be rewarding.
Cambridge Albion Angling Society have the fishing rights as far
as the willow trees, its to far to see the willow trees from the
bridge, its one hell of a walk, but can be rewarding at the end
of the day, for some reason this side seems to be very popular
with anglers, I’ve had some very good days fishing here, well
rewarding, a lot of large Bream have been caught, also Tench,
Chub, and so on, you have got to try it.
Night fishing is permitted, but at your own risk.
LOCK YOUR VEHICLE.
Alternatively, you can drive down the road parallel to the
counter drain, past the pump house and the bungalow, 200yrds
on the left there is a car park. Park at your own risk.
Walk over the wooden walkway bridge to the counter wash and
fish. This brings you nearer to Manea, where the willow trees
are. Do not venture past the trees as this belongs to the RSPB.
