Directions:
From Cambridge, take the A10 towards Ely to Stretham Round-about, turn Left to Wilburton, follow road through Wilburton, past church on left, up hill passed landscape scenery on left, follow road round to your right passed water tower, follow through to cross road, turn right, follow road down hill and up the next hill for about half mile to T junction, CAUTION, FAST ROAD, turn left to small rounder-about, bear left toward Sutton, follow road right through to T junction, turn right,1/4 mile, turn right to Sutton Gault, this is a very small road, if you blink once you have just missed it, its just before you start going down the hill, if you are going down the hill you have missed it!!!.

When you finally find the road, follow through to first bridge, Pub on your left, over first bridge, "Tidal water", to second bridge, STOP. You can park around the bridge area. As you approach the bridge, The fishing rights are on the far side to the right, you need to cross over the stile and walk along the bank a few yards, try to not fish directly behind the house, as the bank is very steep, and it also gives a bit more privacy for the people who live there, it is impossible to drive along this stretch, may be advised to take a trolley, the fishing rights go as far as Mepal, again all this stretch of water is liable to flooding during the winter months.

Before fishing the Old Bedford it is best to contact the local fishing Tackle shops in Cambridge, F.J.Farrington, 01223 (461361) or S.Cooper and Sons, 01223 (365987).

Species:
Roach, Rudd, Chub, Bream,Tench, Perch, Pike, Zander.

There are many Pike in this stretch, "but be aware", there is always the big one just waiting to be had!!.
