From the Bridge to opposite "Five miles from anywhere" Pub.
It’s about 1½ miles.

Fishing rights west banks only

Directions:
From Cambridge, Take A10 Towards Ely to Stretham round-about, turn right, follow road round sharp corners to first bridge, "Old West river, Gravel Farm," keep going until you cross over un-manned railway crossing, follow road to larger bridge, named Military bridge, or some people call it Dimmocks Cote Bridge, STOP, Park on grass verge both sides, well off the road near bridge, car parking limited, although we have had 150 cars park there for Embassy match.

Fishing:
D.E.F. Section is excellent fishing in the summer season, although a bit slower in the winter season, if you fish this section in the winter season, you are advised to wear waders, or boots, as this section contains marshland just before you cross to the river, unless you walk further down on the top bank, towards willow trees, then down to the river, sometimes its bit dryer. This stretch of water is probably not for the faint hearted, but a long walk may be rewarded for bagging up Bream.
If you are fishing D section near the bridge, be sure you are at least 30 metres away from the pylons, especially if you’re using a pole.

Holidaymakers with large cabin cruisers, and small boats use this stretch of water, which can be an advantage; "stirring up feed" sometimes you catch fish directly after the boat has passed.

Courtesy and patience must be practiced on all Albion waters.

Species: Bream, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Chub and big Tench have been bagged, occasionally Carp and the odd Trout.

Mr D How caught a specimen Bream in the year 2001 at 6lbs-10ozs, D/Cote, he won a prize of £100, presented by Mr E.Seaby for the largest Bream.

To qualify for a specimen Bream, "in sponsored matches only" you must have your rod licence and club book with you, a committee member must be a witness, look in your Cambridge Albion Angling Society member’s book.

If you think you have caught a specimen fish, or predator, "when pleasure fishing" you must have your Rod Licence and Club book with you, and a photograph of specimen if possible, or phone for a committee member as a witness.

Predators: For the hunters of large Pike, and Zander, 30lb plus Pike have been caught at Dimmocks, although, none have been reported as a specimen at this venue yet, "could you be the first?". Look on the specimen page for the societies specimen fish.
